Have you ever been in a train station or outside where the guys have the carts selling hot dogs ,pretzels, and other concessions.I had a craving for cashews and I wanted them roasted some sort of way so I chose to make them sweet and spicy because I love how they mesh .You’ll taste the sweet at the front and then the spicy at the back of the palette. They are made with maple syrup and cane sugar because to me they are similar in taste.I made them with a lil ‘ bit of cayenne pepper for that bite. When I tasted the cashew tasted nice I liked them I hope you will too. Here is the recipe for me to share with you.
Ingredients:
1 cup roasted cashews
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsps maple syrup
1-1/2 tbsps cane or light brown sugar
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp kosher salt
Directions:
1. In a small skillet or sauce pan melt butter over medium to low heat.
2. Now add to butter salt, maple syrup, cane sugar, vanilla extract and cayenne pepper.
3. Stir maple butter mixture until it begins to look frothy stir for( 3-5 mins). After 5 mins remove maple butter mixture from heat .Pour the mixture over the cashews and stir until cashews are thoroughly covered.Next pour the cashews and maple mixture onto a lined parchment cookie sheet pan and spread with a spatula or spoon.Put it in a 350 degree oven for 5 mins and then remove from oven stir once and then put it back in the oven another 3-4 mins or until golden brown.
